The Ins and Outs of Ladies Watches

by Linda D Wallace

A great gift for any lady is a wristwatch. While many people these days use their cell phone as their time keeper, a good looking wristwatch continues to remain both a useful and fashionable function. The right watch can enhance any outfit.

Wristwatches for women come in a large variety of different styles. Choosing a new one can be difficult and it is important to have an awareness of the variety of brands and popular looks. This will make your task easier in the long run.

If you or the woman you are buying the watch for is into sports or fitness, then a sports watch would be the most obvious choice. Pastel colors or pink will make sure that watch is feminine looking and not to masculine as some sports watches can look.

The classic wristwatch is the most popular amongst women. They are stylish, fashionable and designed for the smaller female wrist. A typical classic wristwatch will have a band that is made from leather and a analog clock face. The actual look can vary tremendously but you will be sure to find one that suits the look and style that you are after.

A more expensive choice that offers the 'bling' factor are jewelry watches. These time pieces are exactly as the name suggests. They are more pieces of jewelry than watches being made from precious metal like gold or silver and embellished with gems such as emeralds and diamonds.

The two biggest brands of ladies wristwatches are Omega and Casio. For more expensive and up market watches, Omega would be the brand to look at. For cheap but still highly quality watches, Casio would be the first choice.

Your local watch retailer will have a large selection of ladies wristwatches for sale. If you are patient you can usually wait for the sale season in order to buy one at a cheaper price. You could also find the same model at two competing stores and get them to beat their competitors price.

Online websites are another source of watches. Many well known jewelers or watch retailers have their own website where you can buy a watch at discounted prices. Don't forget to look at the major websites like Amazon or eBay where you can not only pick up a new watch but also a second hand one too.
