Ancient Egyptian Jewelry

The old Egyptians are great lovers of jewelry and adorned themselves with as much jewelry as was possible. Egyptian jewelry was not just a method of improving one's looks. It included signs that would provide the owner with prosperity and protection, ranged from motifs of increase its image of fecundity and revival. It means the potential for life to evolve and to be happy, and recollects us that we are all endless creatures.

The Egyptians were good artisans and they designed some of the most pretty and special jewelry ever. Jewels were a part of their lives before and after death and the deads was always buried with their dear possessions. The substances used for manufacturing jewelry were more often based on religious confidence and symbolism. Gold and silver were used widely throughout the several thousand year history of the old Egypt. Enamel and glass were also used to augument spell and glamour.

The choice of materials used to make jewelry pieces was often based on religious beliefs. Egyptian jewelry was made of glazed glass, minerals, semi-precious stones and metal. Over time, handicraftsmans crafted their skills to create enchanting designed Egyptian jewelry made of gold, silver, turquoise, agate and wood.

As we can remark, religious jewelry had a special signification in antique Egypt. Such pieces remain popular in our days, because people continue to believe profoundly in their protective power. The philosophy and beliefs of those times are certainly wise, and we all want to profit from this.
